Shepherds Gully offers a unique accommodation experience. The mud-brick building provides accommodation for up to 12. If you're looking for a different get-away with family or friends, a mid-week escape, corporate retreat or wedding/event accommodation, Shepherds Gully is the perfect venue.
Set on 25 acres of bushland and surrounded by permaculture gardens, Shepherds Gully is a great place to unwind. With regular visits from local wildlife including wallabies and possums – you can experience a nature encounter at the back door.
Shepherds Gully offers accommodation for up to 12 in 1 group. When you book you get the whole house - you won't be sharing and everything you need for an amazing stay is provided.
The buildings are constructed from mud brick and have numerous sustainable building fixtures and features including solar hot water, solar air conditioning and a 3.5kw solar power system. It is hoped that some guests will visit Shepherds Gully to experience a mud brick stay and learn about other sustainable living principles. Every measure has been included to achieve the highest environmental outcome for the property while considering the comfort needs of guests.
The property has been designed using Permaculture principals which some visitors will be interested in exploring. Extensive organic gardens including a large variety of fruit trees surround the buildings. Guests will be able to visit and collect eggs from the free range chickens and ducks.
There are 6 bedrooms which can be arranged to suit your needs. Comfy beds with linen, doonas and extra blankets provided.
Shepherds Gully offers the perfect place for your wedding accommodation. Located centrally to a number of local Wedding Venues such as Mindaribba House, Tocal Chapel, Tocal House, Albion Farm Gardens, All Saints Woodville and Calvin Estate.
Shepherds Gully is only a short distance to your Wedding Venue and transfers to and from the venue can be provided. Childcare for little ones who would prefer to be in bed than partying into the night at the reception, can also be provided. The House provides a central venue for groups of Wedding guests, whether family or friends, to stay together to enjoy great company and celebrate the very special day.
Whether you are seeking a venue for a team building retreat, or a business planning event, Shepherds Gully will provide just the place you need. With accommodation for up to 12 overnight guests and dedicated meeting space for approximately 18 people – an additional 6 people can visit for the event during the day.

Shepherds Gully is only 2-1/4 hours from Sydney, 12 minutes to Maitland, 45 minutes to the Newcastle beaches, Port Stephens and Wine Country and an hour to the Barrington Tops. You are spoiled for choice for activities.
From Maitland, drive North over the Hunter River through Lorn. Keep going on Paterson Road through to Bolwarra Heights. Keep following the signs to Tocal Agricultural College. At the Service Station at Bolwarra Heights, check your odometer. Drive another 7.5 kilometres on Tocal Road and keep a look out on your left for Eelah Road. There are about 9 letterboxes here where you turn left. It's a sealed road for 500m until the rail crossing, then gravel for another 700m. Shepherds Gully is on the right.
From Paterson, drive past Tocal Agricultural College for 2 kilometres. Look out for Eelah Road on your right.
